Value of trigonometric function tan(x) varies from $\infty$ to -$\infty$. Arctan Calculator finds the value of x, provided the value of tan(x) is known. In simple words, it calculates tan inverse (tan-1). Please enter the number for which Arctan (inverse tangent) has to be calculated in this Arctan Calculator and click solve. It will give the value of arctan (inverse tangent) in degrees as well as radians of the Number entered.

## Steps to Find Arctangent

Step 1 :

Observe the give input number.

Step 2 :

Observe the arc-tangent value of the given number in clarks table, corresponding to that number degree is located. To convert degree into radians multiply it by $\frac{\pi}{180}$

## Arctan Problems

1. ### Evaluate $\tan^{-1}{(1)}$

Step 1 :

Given real number = 1

Step 2 :

$\tan^{-1}{(1)}$
$\Rightarrow$ $\tan^{-1}tan(45^{\circ})$
$\Rightarrow$ $45^{\circ}$
$\Rightarrow$ $45^{\circ} \times$ $\frac{\pi}{180}$
$\Rightarrow$ $\frac{\pi}{4}$ = 0.785

Answer  :

$\tan^{-1}{(1)}$ = $45^{\circ}$
$\tan^{-1}{(1)}$ = 0.785 radians

2. ### Evaluate $\tan^{-1}{(1.73205081)}$

Step 1 :

Given real number = 1.73205081

Step 2 :

$\tan^{-1}{(1.73205081)}$
$\Rightarrow$ $\tan^{-1}tan(60^{\circ})$
$\Rightarrow$ $60^{\circ}$
$\Rightarrow$ $60^{\circ} \times$ $\frac{\pi}{180}$
$\Rightarrow$ $\frac{\pi}{3}$ = 1.047

Answer  :

$\tan^{-1}{(1)}$ = $60^{\circ}$
$\tan^{-1}{(1)}$ = 1.047 radians
