Step by Step Calculation

Step 1 :  

Divide the given decimal value by 16, and convert the reminder in hexadecimal number and write it down. Divide the pending result again by 16 and again convert the reminder into hexadecimal form and write it down next to the previous hexadecimal number.



Step 2 :  

Repeat step 1 till we get the result as 1 or less than 1.

  1. Convert 143 in to Hexadecimal number.


    Step 1 :  

    Divide 143 by 16, we get 15 as reminder. According to Hexadecimal conversion 15 is F.
    So write down F is the reminders list. The result here is 8.



    Step 2 :  

    Since we know 8/16 is less than 1. so we don't have to further divide it. instead we can ad 8 itself to the reminder list. Now the reminder list has 8F in it.



    Answer  :  

    8F



  2. Convert 420 in to Hexadecimal number.


    Step 1 :  

    Divide 420 by 16, we get 4 as reminder. According to Hexadecimal conversion 4 is 4 itself.  
    So write down 4 is the reminders list. The result here is 26.



    Step 2 :  

    Divide 26 by 16, we get 10 as reminder. According to Hexadecimal conversion 10 is A.  
    So write down A is the reminders list. The result here is 1, So we don't have to divide it further, instead we can ad 1 to the reminder list. Now the reminder list is 1A4.



    Answer  :  

    1A4
