Equivalent Ratio Calculator
Top

A ratio is a comparison o two quantities and an equivalent ratios that make the same comparison. Equivalent ratios describe the same relationship using different numbers.

Equivalent Ratio Calculator (or Equal Ratios Calculator) is used to find whether two ratios are equal or not. The calculator takes the both the ratio A:B and C:D and calculates whether they are equal or not.

Step by Step Calculation

Step 1 :

Read the problem and note down the ratios given.

Step 2 :

Ente the values in the corresponding boxes to know wherther its equivalent or non equivalent ratios.

Example Problems

  1. Which two ratios are equivalent?
    12:4, 2:8, 4:1, 16:4

    Step 1 :

    Given data

    1. 12:4

    2. 2:8

    3. 4:1

    4. 16:4

    Step 2 :

In each of the ratios except 2:8 the first term is greater than the second. Since none of the other ratios can be equivalent to 2:8, eliminate each of the options that includes 2:8. The only choice that does not include ratio 2:8 is answer 16:4.

Therefore 4:1 nad 16:4 are equivalent ratios.

    Answer  :

The answer is 4:1 nad 16:4 are equaivalent ratios.

  2. Find two equivalent ratios for 4:12

    Step 1 :

    Given data

    4:12

    Step 2 :

Find the first equivalent ratio using multiplication. Multiply both the first and second terms by 2.

    4 $\times$ 2 : 12 $\times$ 2

    = 8:24

Find a second equivalent ratio using division. Divide both first and second terms by 2.

    $\frac{4}{2} : \frac{12}{2}$

    = 2:6

    Answer  :

Therefore 4:12, 8:24 and 2:6 are equivalent ratios.
