Apply these formulas -


Total surface area of hemisphere = 3 × π × r2


Volume of hemisphere = (2/3) x π x r3


Where π = 3.14, r = radius.

  1.  Find the volume and total surface area of a hemisphere, whose radius is 3cm.


    Step 1 :  

    Apply formula for the volume of hemisphere = (2/3) x π x r3


    Putting π = 3.14 , r = 3cm;


    Volume of hemisphere = (2/3) × 3.14 ×  33 cm3


    Volume of hemisphere = (2/3) × 3.14 × 27 cm3


    Volume of hemisphere = 56.52 cm3


     


    Now apply formula for the total surface area of hemisphere = 3 × π × r2.


    Putting π = 3.14 , r = 3cm;


    Total surface area of hemisphere = 3 × 3.14 ×  3cm2


    Total surface area of hemisphere = 3 × 3.14 × 9 cm2


    Total surface area of hemisphere = 84.78 cm2



    Answer  :  

    Volume=56.52 cm3 & Total surface area = 84.78 cm2.



  2. Find the total surface area of hemisphere, whose radius is 8 cm.


    Step 1 :  

    Apply formula for the total surface area of hemisphere = 3 × π × r2


    Putting π = 3.14 , r = 8cm.


    Total surface area of hemisphere = 3 × 3.14 ×  82 cm2


    Total surface area of hemisphere = 3 × 3.14 × 64 cm2



    Answer  :  

    602.88cm2
